The NRM primaries, held nationwide on July 17, 2025, were a critical step in selecting flag bearers for the 2026 general elections. Despite reports of low voter turnout in some regions and isolated incidents of violence, Nebbi District’s electoral process was largely peaceful, allowing voters to freely express their choice.
Local leaders and residents praised Nyamutoro’s win as a testament to her dedication and connection to the people of Nebbi. “Hon. Nyamutoro has shown she is a leader who listens and delivers. This victory is for all of us who believe in progress,” said a supporter at a celebratory rally in Nebbi.
As Nyamutoro prepares for the general elections, her victory in the primaries positions her as a formidable candidate to continue representing Nebbi’s women and youth on the national stage. The NRM leadership has expressed confidence in her ability to carry the party’s flag, with many anticipating a strong showing in 2026.
The Nebbi District Woman MP race was one of several closely watched contests in the NRM primaries, with other notable results including Hashim Sulaiman’s win for the Nebbi Municipality MP ticket, securing 4,316 votes against Alfred Ronald Olar’s 2,450.
